Common senseLondon Times Obituary of the late:- Mr. Common Sense
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how
old he was,since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic
red tape. will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable
lessons as:
Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend morthan you can earn) and reliable strategies
(adults, not children, are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place.
Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment
for kissing a classmate; teens suspended
from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining
their unruly children.
It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an Elastoplast
to a student; but could not inform parents when a student
became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses;
and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend
yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar
could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot.
She spilled a little in her lap,
and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter,
Responsibility; and his son, Reason.
He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, I Want It Now, Someone Else Is To Blame,
and I'm A Victim.
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. Do you still remember him?,
Don't get too upset If you don't,
many have now had to join the majority and put him out of
their thoughts.
Nannies ever increasing legislation's will take care of you from here.!!! Naughty Children.. The Answer.Much of the population now are in two minds whether to smack their children for misbehaving... I have tried many other methods to control mine when they have one of ''those moments''

One method that I found very effective was for me just to take the child for a car ride and talk.. Within a few minutes of our little car rides together they usually calmed down and stopped misbehaving.

* * * * * School, TV etc...This past week seems to have flown by,, must have been because my Daughter was on a weeks school term break!!... how come those sort of weeks seem to go quicker than the school Attendance ones?. Back to normal on Monday.. no more lay in's

Got a 32'' telly the other day,, not new, but bigger than my 27" one.. the only trouble is I am having to move my front room about to try and fit it in!!!
 As long as I still have room to get to the comp I will allow it to stay ...lol...* * * * *

Still trying, off and on, with the Camcorder Converter!!
 Have now managed to get some onto DVD disc but still cannot work out how to get them to 'move' about on my comp .... It started off as fun but now I find myself getting totally frustrated I may have to give it a rest for a few days to recuperate...lol...* * * * *
Weather has been fairly mild lately with plenty of
 sunshine during the daylight hours. Me 'Daffs' are 'blooming' behind me fish pond and me little baby fish look like they could be big enough and ready to join the BIG pond in a few months.* * * * *

 over the next week. Daughter Kes still seems to be doing well at school and we have had quite a few letters through the letter box from the school informing us of 'Merit Awards' that Kes has 'Earned'!! Go for it Girl!!...* * * * *
Brother-in-law Wayne is due home from his Army training this evening, Just for the weekend though. I forgot to mention in my last blog that he had his 18th Birthday
 at the end of last month, we didn't think he would be home for his birthday as it was midweek (not a leave option) but seems the army is 'well pleased' with his progress and allowed him to come home on his actual Birthday for a long weekend. He accompanied me on the Thursday to my darts match at the pub and enjoyed being 'legally' allowed to drink alcohol...lol... Seems the Army is still Impressed with him because within a week of his return to 'camp' he had been promoted to ' Lance Jack' as he calls it,'Lance Corporal' I believe... to give it the correct name. This gives him a slight increase in wages but an even bigger increase in respect!! Go for it mate!!....* * * * *
Grandson's
Football team suffered a loss (5-1) at the ground of the 'leaders' of their division on Sunday, Bit better than the last time they met though,, when they lost 8-0.... Even better was the fact that Grandson Danny himself scored our only goal with a great 'Header'!!!. Lucky enough other results in the league went our way and they are still in with a chance of staying in the 1st division. Go for it Son!!* * * * *
I have saved the best till last,,,,, ME!!....lol... All 'wins' to report on the Darts games!! The Team ain't lost a single match and more to the point nor have I... Free beers all the way...lol... We are Still tucked in 3rd place in the Wednesday league but some good wins have seen us gaining valuable points in each game which may help us towards the end of the season.. Still in 1st place in the Thursday league and, with some good wins of late, pulling even further away from our nearest rivals... Go for it Me!!!....lol...

 A Bull Mastiff,,, I am hoping to post a few pics soon,,, I would have liked to post a Video instead but I am still at a loss with the new 'Camcorder Converter'??? Oh well,,, can't win them all I suppose...lol...Best wishes to all. Stirring stuffI don't want the damn thing!!!!, why Oh why can't they take NO for an answer.
 Every time I want to write a new blog this little window comes up asking if i want to upload their 'New' window live Photo upload control thingy!!!, I click NO every time but each time I come back there it is again!!! if Windows Live were one of my children they'd get a good hiding and told not to keep pestering me and to take NO for an answer...lol... I am quite happy with Photobucket thank you very much. * * * * *
No change to the routine as such and not really a lot of progress made with the decoration of my hall and stairs either, measured and cut a few boards ready to fix to the walls, put a couple of shelves up under the 'stair-well' and that's about it!!! No doubt as the warmer weather gets here I will feel a bit more 'Inclined', Well!! I hope so anyway.

Grandsons
'Footy' team came away with another win last Sunday.. 2-1. They even jumped up 1 place in the league table to 6th position. Their last 3 games are against 'top' teams so there is plenty of interest left to see if we can stay in the first division.* * * * *
Darts continue with 5 wins in a row. Although we gained an overall win in all 5 games I have still lost my 'singles' game in 3 of those so I am 'out of pocket' 1 Beer
...I must do better!!! We are still 3rd in the Wednesday league and have Increased our lead at the 'Top' of the Thursday league. With any luck we will maintain the winning streak tonight and I will 'level' the free Beers quota...lol...* * * * *
I reckon one of the reasons I am not playing so well of late is the 'No Smoking ban' introduced in ALL public buildings, I have to leave the premises to have a 'Smoke' outside. Our Landlord is a great bloke and has built a nice shelter with heating to accommodate the smokers ( and that is at least 80% of the Patrons) now it seems that Heaters are to be 'Banned' outside due to ANOTHER 'EU' ruling!!!... Another step to try and 'force' people to do as they are told,?? well done NANNY!! I hope you realize that, like children, if we keep getting 'Smacked' WE are going to rebel 'BIG time' one of these days.
I believe this all started because they want to save the lives of people who die from 'Passive smoking'? , Well forgive me for wondering about this but as yet I have NEVER seen a death certificate which states '' Cause of Death:- Passive Smoking''?? are you sure it's not the exhaust fumes from vehicles that might be causing these Deaths??. I understand that if you inhaled 'Direct' cigarette smoke for an hour or more it would probably make you feel sick,
 dizzy and it will most probably cause a lot of coughing, Try inhaling 'direct' exhaust fumes for the same amount of time and you would 'most' probably finish up 'DEAD'.!!! ....... Heaven forbid that you should ever try to pick on the MAJORITY!!! and 'BAN' Vehicles from our roads???.* * * * *
