Totally Boring

I ain't got anything exciting to blog about,  same old routine here at home. Still waiting for new grand-daughter to arrive, shouldn't be long now.
Grandson's footy team was 4-1 down at half time on Sunday but managed to recover to get a 4-4 draw by the end of the game, at least that stopped the run of losses.
On wednesday we played the 'top' team at darts and lost 10-13 so I reckon we didn't do too bad, I didn't play in the team game so no worries about having to buy a beer....lol... Thursday's dart's game  saw us getting a good 5-1 win in the team game but we lost the doubles 1-2 (first time we lost them) I played in the team game on this one so I got me 'free' beer Open-mouthed I also played in the doubles as you will notice by the 1 game that we won...lol... We are still 'top' overall in the Thursday league.
Brother -in -law Wayne will be taking his driving test again soon, with any luck he may pass this time.
Thats about it!! can't think of nowt else.
Best wishes to all.

Christmas Party Dangers

Got this from my mate Jim, it stands as a good warning to carefully vet any Christmas parties you may be invited to!!!

Tom had been in the liquor business for 25 years. Finally sick of the stress he quits his job and buys 50 acres of land in Alaska as far from humanity as possible.

He sees the postman once a week and gets groceries once a month. Otherwise it's total peace and quiet.

After six months or so of almost total isolation, someone knocks on his door. He opens it and a huge, bearded man is standing there.

'Name's Cliff, your neighbor from forty miles up the road. Having a Christmas party Friday night. Thought you might like to come at about 5:00.'

'Great', says Tom, 'after six months out here I'm ready to meet some local folks. Thank you.'

As Cliff is leaving, he stops. 'Gotta warn you. Be some drinking'.'

'Not a problem' says Tom. 'After 25 years in the business, I can drink with the best of 'em'.

Again, the big man starts to leave and stops. 'More 'n' likely gonna be some fighting' too.'

'Well, I get along with people, I'll be all right. I'll be there. Thanks
 again.'

'More'n likely be some wild sex, too,'

'Now that's really not a problem' says Tom, warming to the idea. 'I've been all alone for six months! I'll definitely be there. By the way, what should I wear?'

'Don't much matter. Just gonna be the two of us.'
   !

Thanks Jim.

More

Where was I??  Oh yep!! The catch up.... same routine during the week,, daughter to school, housework and the like.  Done a little bit of Christmas shopping on Tuesday,  still got loads to do and am fast running out of time (and money!!) Wednesday, Darts night,  A good win for the team, 20-3 but I lost me singles game and had to buy a drink for me opponent Sad we are currently 3rd in the league table.        Thursday, Darts again,  another win, 4-2 team game and 2-1 in the doubles, I didn't play at all well and got dropped for the doubles game Sad but the 'beer leg' drink was on the team game so I got a 'free one' Open-mouthed  We are currently 'Top' of the league in the Thursday darts.
Brother-in-law Wayne was due home on Thursday evening for a long weekend, he has just passed his 'signals' course. He has struggled quite a bit with this part of the course so he was well pleased when he managed to pass, I was told he had been celebrating during his train journey home and also at his brothers house (he popped in to see him before walking down to my house)  When I arrived home from darts he had already gone to bed totally Pi**ed and oblivious to the world...lol...
Saturday was the normal 'rush' routine, Wayne didn't emerge from his bedroom until almost mid-day, Middle daughter Laura arrived with her partner for a visit, looks like baby Jessica, (that's going to be her name) could be with us within the next 2 weeks. Take daughter Kes to her 'artistic roller skating' session, I am also taking a couple of my grandchildren along with her now as they seem to have taken a liking to skating, a quick trip to the Tesco supermarket for the weekly shop whilst they are at skating and then back to pick them up again. You would have thought an hour and a half was plenty of time to do the shopping but as Christmas draws near, the tills seem ever busier and you spend half the time in a queue waiting to pay for the stuff!!!.
A quick trip out on Sunday to see if there was any 'boot fairs' going on, none found, so it was back to base again to prepare dinner. An earlier dinner than normal as Wayne had to leave to go back to camp early in the afternoon, I was going to Grandsons football game after dinner (the proper football game with the Soccer ball 'round' ball) so Wayne came with me a little bit early and he made his way to the train station (which is fairly close to the football pitch) when he was due to go. Since winning their first game, Grandsons team has struggled for a 'win' in their league matches, this game proved no different,  they lost 6-0.
Today, after a night of 'hefty' rain, I decided to have another go at fixing my guttering (it's still leaking) I will have to wait for the next rain shower to know if I have 'cured' it this time.  I decided to clear the front guttering while I had the ladders in use and never realised how badly the grass needed cutting...lol... How on earth do you get 'grass' growing in a guttering?? I didn't realise how bad it was until I reached the top of the ladder and could see how badly 'clogged'' it all was. I emptied at least 3 bucket fulls of the stuff onto the compost heap from my own guttering and a complete bucket full from my 'left' neighbours, even though she had new guttering fitted not that long ago.... I thought I would clear my 'left' neighbours whilst I was at it as it was no trouble to move the ladder a few feet along, and she is getting on a bit!!...lol... Unfortunately I couldn't get to  my 'other' next door 'right' neighbours guttering ( the one I helped yesterday after his fall)  although I did manage to reach and clear some with a long handled broom. The reason I put 'left' and 'right' neighbour is because of the confusion it may cause to those who were rather 'confused' by one of my previous posts. (previous post) This post was done ''tongue in cheek'' at the time but I had to add a little 'info'  at the end after a few 'commentors' believed I was being serious...lol...
Thats brought (almost) everything up to date and I've totally worn meself out now....lol....
  Best wishes.

.

Writing a blog has become increasingly difficult lately, not that I have much to write about anyway but when I do sit down to have a few minutes on the 'comp' I find myself first checking e-mails, then after that I check out 'whats new'  (to see whats new!!)...lol...    Since the introduction of 'whats new', I must admit, I have added a 'few' friends just so that I can keep up to date with their space and get notified when they have updated, the only way you was notified of 'new' updated additions before was if their 'addie' had been added to your contacts list. Now I find that I am spending so much time ''catching up' with all the new blogs and leaving comments that by the time I finish doing that I am either too worn out to think about writing a blog or it is well past 'bed time'.
I suppose if I had something really interesting to blog about then that would take precedence ( I say, as I sit and type out this blog)...lol...   anyway, now I have eventually managed to work me way through all the 'new' additions to other peoples blogs I have finally got round to typing one of my own, It's not what I would call an (interesting) blog, really just a catch up,..... As I typed those words I had a knock at my front door, my next door neighbour was standing there and asked if I could assist her in helping up her husband who had fallen over in his front room, he is not the smallest or lightest of men but between his wife and myself we managed to get him into his chair, sadly, he has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer.  He is somewhere in the region of 65 years old, he has his 'good' days and is fighting the cancer as best he can but unfortunately it seems to be taking it's toll. Having something like that happen to someone that age and so close to home makes you take stock of things in your life.
I'm afraid I cannot get my mind around writing the 'catch up' at the moment,  hopefully I will be able to concentrate more tomorrow so I will leave it at that for now.
Best wishes to all.

Family Life...lol...

Last week seemed to be rather hectic and the past weekend even more so. My brother-in-law  Wayne came home from his Army training on Friday night, just for a weekend break. He has encountered a few problems lately and was thinking of quiting his training. He had phoned me earlier in the week regarding what he was thinking but I found it quite hard to advise him one way or the other.  I would love him to return to 'home' life, and the thought of him passing all his tests and finishing up in places like Afghanistan worries me sick  but I want him to be happy, and I did not want him to make any decision that he might regret later. It seems like his corporal has saved me from having to worry about giving him any 'right or wrong' advice as, after a chat with his corporal before returning home, he has decided to ''stick at it' after all.
Daughter Kes had a friend staying for a 'sleep over' on Friday night  and I'm sure most of you know how hectic a 'sleep-over' can be...lol...  Saturday entailed, shopping first, then, the one and a half hour, Artistic roller skate session (for Kes and her sleepover friend),   Middle (pregnant) daughter and her partner arriving at noon for the 'annual' evening firework display, put on by our local council, and then, part preparing the feast ready for when we returned home after the event. If I ever get a 'digital' camcorder I will have to film the display and put it in a blog, the display seems to get bigger and better every year,  mind you, so do the crowds!!!...lol....  we used to be able to get ''up close and personal' with the display years ago, now we have trouble getting within a 1/4 mile radius. We always walk to the display, (well!! drive halfway and walk the rest,) but some drivers never learn, it is so amusing walking past all the cars that have tried to get as close as possible and have found themselves 'gridlocked' in massive traffic jams...lol...  After the 'fireworks' it was all back to my place for soup, hot-dogs and baked potatoes with every filling that you could imagine, (was I 'bloated' after that lot...lol...)
Sunday!! Middle (pregnant) daughter (Laura), and her partner had stayed over for the night and we was awakened quite early in the morning as Laura had been having quite a lot of pains and her stomach had been 'tightening' off and on most of the night. My new grand-daughter is due to be born early December but there is some discrepancy as to whether the birth timing has been correctly diagnosed. Anyway, a phone call to the hospital resulted in them suggesting that she attends as soon as possible for a 'check over'. Parking, anywhere in or near the hospital, is a 'no go' for my large vehicle so I dropped Laura and her partner off at the entrance and returned home to await the outcome. Grandsons football game was to be played that morning and, as I was only a phone call away from the hospital, I decided to go and watch the game. During the game I received a text saying Laura was being kept in for 'observation' for a couple of hours.
I enjoyed the footy game, even though we lost, ....again!!, Grandson Danny scored an excellent goal though, made my day that did...lol...
Good timing from the hospital as well, coz as I was returning home from the game, I received a phone call to pick up Laura from the hospital.
Turns out that she had a slight 'urine' infection and the tightening of her stomach was due to ''Braxton Hicks,'' which was something I had never heard of before, Panic over!!!...lol...  Anyway, now it was back to my house for a nice big 'fry up' ( that was the breakfast that we never had time for).
Last thing before I close,,  Darts...  another 'loss' on Wednesday was followed by a 'clean sweep win' on Thursday, we didn't lose a single game. I don't like to 'Brag'...lol... but I finished one of the games with a 120 (3 top holes) finish!!!!Open-mouthed I can now visualize you all, scratching your heads, thinking 'what the hell is 3 top holes?'' Confused ...lol...
Best wishes.

My Fish Pond Movie

Since I found out that I had the right Equipment to enter a Movie on You Tube I seem to have got a little carried away with my Movie making and have now entered a small, video/pic, movie on my blog page, I used 'Photobucket' as my host for this and I am quite pleased with the results....  I hope you will enjoy it.

Update:---  Seems, for some reason!!, the 'Photobucket' version is now unavialable. It was here when I first published but now seems to have dissapeared??. No problem though as the 'non jerky' version is still in my 'video box'.

(Please remember to stop media player first)

A ''Non Jerky'' Version is ( still...lol...) available in Kingtroys Video Box >>>>

Halloween Night

Halloween night came and went without a single ' Trick or Treat' caller at the door, 'Little daughter' was staying with 'big daughter' for the night, as Wednesday is my darts night. As far as I knew Big daughters whole family would be going ''trick or treating'' so my little daughter wouldn't have missed out. I don't know how they got on yet as I wont see little daughter until after school finishes.   Anyway,, back to my house again, I had a poster delivered the other day, it was delivered by a Police officer.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This Poster, as far as I know, was delivered to every household. This is the first time we have ever received a poster like this.  I believe it is due to the increasing amount of 'Yobbo's' using Halloween night to cause mayhem and destruction. I left my house  about 7pm to head off for darts and travelled through a few roads that seemed to be full of young children (with adult supervision) all dressed up as witches and ghouls and seemingly having lots of fun,  ain't it a pity that the 'Yobbo' factor is slowly ruining it for the youngsters?!!!.

Anyway, I did not bother to put the poster in my window as it seems I have a bigger deterrent.   Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket  I have a 'half glassed' front door and the least shadow appearing in the glass causes an instant 'vicious barking attack' before the door bell has even been reached , Well, !!!  would you knock?...lol...

PS;-  We lost at darts AGAIN!!!  Crying

Best wishes.
