The Smoking Ban (part 2)I'm at it again...lol...
£9.5 Billion ( A £2 Billion increase since the last blog in 'My Views' about 18 months ago) is donated to the government by smokers by way of taxation...(which has now been increased AGAIN in the last budget)... If every smoker quit tomorrow where would the government raise this sort of money then??? 10 or even 20p on a litre of fuel?, Vat raised to 20 % ?, 20p or more added to a pint of beer? they would have to re-coup this loss from somewhere!!!... '' Savings would be made'' I hear you say, ''by hospitals not having to treat smoking related illnesses'' !!!... The cost of treating smoking related illnesses is estimated at £1.5 billion !!!... that leaves £8 billion!!! were does this money go??? no doubt the government are putting it to good use.. perhaps by spending it on anti smoking campaigns!!! I have given a bit of thought to this and I reckon the government should lift the ban on smoking and actually cut the taxes on cigarettes. (this will encourage smokers to 'stay' with them)... Change their 'Anti smoking' campaign and encourage people to smoke instead... If they manage to get twice the amount of smokers they will greatly increase their revenue and help the economy recover twice as quick... Better still... Passing a law that would make smoking compulsory would be an even better idea as that way the economy could almost recover within a few months.. It is estimated that 1 in 4 people smoke... so that £8 Bn profit ( remember the government is to reduce the tax) is now going to be 8 X 4... that equals £32 billion pounds.... Now multiply the cost of treating those illnesses... £1.5 Bn x 4 equals £6 Bn.... 32 - 6 = £26 Bn... so now we have increased the revenue to almost 3 times what is donated to the government at the moment... £26 Billion !!! now that's a fair amount to play with.. We will need more workers in the cigarette factories...(to cope with the extra demand)... more nurses and doctors (to cope with the extra ailments)...more ambulances, drivers and paramedics... more funeral parlours...( more building and construction workers for this one)... more grave diggers... more funeral cars (leading to more car workers)... more business for flower shops... ( which will lead to more demand for flower growers and cultivators)... the list for extra employment just goes on and on and the extra taxes our government will gain by all these extra workers will be just what the economy needs. This will also lead to government benefits being claimed by millions less people.... It will also lead to the governments pension bill being cut drastically (as people will be dying at a much earlier age)... I can only see a win win situation for the government here.... The green party will be happy as we won't need so much 'green' space to build on..(people will be dying earlier and leaving their houses to relatives)... Traffic and accident management will be happier because of safer roads, ( more pensioners will be dying before they might cause accidents on our roads).. Home owners who live near public houses will be much happier because there will be less noise and cigarette butts outside their properties ( drinkers will once again be able to enjoy a smoke with their pint inside the premises)... pub landlords will rejoice as their business recovers to pre 'smoking ban' days...( I was going to mention non-smoking pubs here but this blog is based on smoking being compulsory...lol...)... Taxi Drivers would welcome the business back that they lost due to the smoking ban (Extra pick ups from public houses)... Entertainers would find more work as they find public houses doing more trade and enticing customers back with 'entertainment nights'...... Bingo halls would perhaps re-open and those that are still struggling and just managing to still exsist would be 'back in buisiness' again...the list is endless!!! Please feel free to add your own in the comments slot... As a matter of fact....why don't we repeal everything that has been banned over the last 40/50years!!.. mind you... that will take us back to the 1950's/60's... mind you again!!!.....wasn't that when everyone who lived through that period seemed happier and was allowed to run their own lives without 'Big Brother/nanny'' telling them what to do and how to do it???? The End ( For now...lol... ) That smoking banMakes you think !!!!
"The first modern, nationwide tobacco ban was imposed by the Nazi Party in every German university, post office, military hospital and Nazi Party office, under the auspices of Karl Astel's Institute for Tobacco Hazards Research, created in 1941 under direct orders from Adolf Hitler himself. Major anti-tobacco campaigns were widely broadcast by the Nazis until the demise of the regime in 1945."
And there was me thinking that the Nazi Party was the only party that wanted world domination !!!!.....
they obviously hadn't heard of the modern word (''stealth'') Pubs and the Smoking Ban
A common sense approach from UKIP (UK Independence party) The Only political party who will amend smokers rights. Pubs and the Smoking Ban Whilst UKIP does not like prohibitions and bans in general, UKIP does recognise that the smoking ban has been popular amongst certain groups, such as families and those wishing to eat out in pubs. However, UKIP believes that a more common sense solution is needed: MINTEL shows that people are becoming more trapped in their homes and go out less: 22% of people feel the ban has disrupted their socialising and 16% less or some 2 million adults go out less. UKIP would amend the smoking ban to allow pub landlords - freehold, tenanted/leased and managed - and club managers to provide contained and ventilated 'smoking rooms' within pubs and clubs, where customers desire it, and the landlords or pub companies wish to invest in such a facility. This proposal brings benefits in reducing noise and intrusion from outside smoking areas in this proposal, and the risk for landlords/managers of sizeable fines levied by local councils. Where it was not possible, desirable or affordable to construct contained smoking rooms, UKIP would give pub landlords and club managers the right to declare their pub or club 'all smoking' ( or 'all non-smoking' ), as long as there were clear warnings and notices outside the building highlighting this status. UKIP supports the continued use of patio heaters for outside and smoking area use and firmly opposes moves by the European Parliament to ban them on environmental grounds, despite the fact that their impact is negligible compared with other emissions, UKIP recognises patio heaters are valuable in retaining business from customers who smoke, rather than forcing them to stand out in the cold and rain, or to buy cheap supermarket beers and stay at home. ''And there's more''

Dolphins playtimeNow and again I come across some weird and wonderful stuff... this is one of them bits of stuff....
The attached video is of dolphins playing with silver colored rings which they have the ability to make under water to play with. It isn't known how they learn this, or if it's an inbred ability.
holidaysI know it has taken me quite a while to put anything into my space lately but finding the time, and, when I did manage to find that, it was finding the enthusiasm which I have been severely lacking of late.... Family problems were in abundance before we even went on holiday and after returning they continued... These family problems have arisen due to a split between one of my daughters and her partner. They had recently had a baby girl (who remains with my daughter) and since the split we have had no end of false allegations resulting in visits from social workers, welfare workers and the police and have even received threatening phone calls... all of these visits from the authorities have resulted in them realising that the accusations are totally fabricated but they say they have to follow up each allegation as there is a child involved... As of the last few weeks things seem to have calmed down a bit and he now seems to have run out of ideas on what to report to the authorities (unless of course their fed up with him as well and have told him to go away) So we have decided not to take up the advice to report these continued allegations to the police as harassment.
The legal courts are now involved with the situation and perhaps things can be sorted out within the near future.
I have added a few pics from our Wales camping holiday, I have had to be a bit selective as to which ones I put in ( we wouldn't want the authorities on us if baby had chocolate round her mouth) Hopefully I will be able to add a blog to go with it soon...
I really must catch up with my visiting and checking on how you are all doing... hope to catch you soon..
Best wishes. Mobile phoneJust had to let you know about the new phone I purchased.....
Does just about everything....brilliant!!!
Cost of 'LIVING'?Was up at 4.30 this morning..
What better way to use up the extra time than write a blog I thought, I just haven't had the inspiration to go on the comp much lately. Apart from just checking e-mails and a quick flick through a few spaces I have been using the extra daylight hours (It was the 1st day of
The garage is still full to the brim ... as I get rid of some of the 'stuff' from there, I replenish it with even more 'stuff' from my attic....which is also filled to the rafters!!!.
Surprising how much 'stuff' gets accumulated over the years!!. One of the reasons for selling some of this stuff is to raise a bit of cash..not for anything special but just to help keep my 'head above water' as they say.. Prices of almost every necessity have been increasing almost daily over the last few years. It annoys me to think of all the things I do to save the environment and to save money and still seem no better off at the end of it... Just a few examples follow...
ELECTRICITY...I only fill the kettle with as much water as is needed (plus a little bit coz I don't like the thought of all that 'chalk' sediment at the bottom), I do not leave electrical items on 'standby' I use gas for cooking, I have 'energy efficient' light bulbs in most of the light sockets, I have 'timer' switches on things that need to be turned off at certain times, I have my immersion heater set to the lowest temperature that will give hot enough water for household chores, I have a shower rather than a bath.. and still my bills have never decreased!!!??? there has always been some sort of 'price rise' that takes care of that.
* * * >< * * *
GAS.... I have no central heating only a gas fire in the front room..I have installed 'Cavity wall insulation...Loft insulation..double glazing'.. I put on a jumper if I feel cold..Again..I have never seen a decrease in the bill!!??.
* * * >< * * *
WATER... Kettle water applies to this one as well.. so does 'shower instead of bath'.. I collect rain water for use in the dry weather to water plants and garden, I have one of those 'limiters' in the toilet flush system ( I will also admit that I do not flush every time I just have a 'wee' ) I do not have any dripping taps, I do not leave the tap running when I clean my teeth, I hardly ever wash my vehicle...lol... Again... the annual bill increases every year!!??.
* * * >< * * *
RUBBISH.... I recycle every possible item that can be recycled, paper, cardboard, cans, tins, plastic bottles, glass bottles and jars, carrier bags...I also compost any compostable materials (potatoe peelings and the like).. you name it and I will recycle it if it can possibly be recycled. I also have an issue to add here because, in their infinite wisdom, our council have stopped issuing our '1' black plastic bag a week and replaced it with extra recycle bags to try and make people recycle more!!! SO!! I am being punished for being conscientious about my recycling (by having to buy my own black sacks
* * * >< * * *
Well.. that's that off me chest!!..and just to think..I could have been visiting all my friends on spaces instead of wasting energy doing this blog...lol...
Darts, Football and Homelife will be updated as soon as anything exciting happens!!!.
Happy Birthday!!Found these new Birthday cake candles in the £ shop
I was well impressed!!!
Camera work isn't great and Grandson got in the way when blowing them out
but it was certainly a highlight of the evening.
The petals actually go round and the candle plays Happy Birthday
but on this occasion one of the petals got stuck and the candles didn't revolve.
It was still great entertainment though.
What a Wonderful Birthday cake Candle
Blog I have felt rather guilty over the last few weeks for not keeping up with my space, Friends visit and wonder what has happened because of the lack off upates. I have tried to visit and reply to all those that have left comments but have still lacked the inspiration to do a blog.. lots has been going on but with the daylight hours now much extended and the weather being rather nice I have taken the opportunity to tidy up the garden and do other bits and pieces and by the time i have finished at the end of the day I just lack the energy to do anything else.

Arriving home after taking the children ( Daughter & Grandchildren) to school on Thursday morning I did my usual check of the garden and pond, I usually feed the fish at this time, ...Disaster!!! there were my fish floundering in about 1 to 2" of water!!!, quite a few of them were laying motionless at the bottom of the pond and I thought that I had lost them. Damien, thats the Koi, who is almost 12" long was flapping about in the deepest part, I quickly grabbed a moulded plastic pond (which my eldest daughter had only given me back a couple of weeks ago) and started to fill it with water, lucky enough I have an outside hose fitted, then grabbed a net to transfer the fish.... Damien was first to be rescued as he seemed to be in the most distress then it was quickly back with the net to save as many as I could...They all survived!!! even the motionless fish, when touched with the net, started bouncing about over the pebbles which I have at the bottom of the pond to protect the vinyl liner. Turns out that I have 51 fish in all...that is including the 3 babies which were born last year and that I added back to the pond a few weeks ago. I have never been able to count them all in the pond as they just wouldn't stay still long enough...lol...
Anyway, I eventually discovered what had happened... turns out that the filter, which serves the waterfall, had blocked...Millie reminded me that this had happened a few years back, and it was then that I fitted a 'overflow return pipe'. This time the overflow pipe had come adrift and the pond water, nearly all 2100 litres of it, had pumped itself into the garden!!!! this time I hope I have fixed it properly!!.
* * * * *
I guess it was too good an opportunity to miss, as the pond had been drained it might as well be cleaned...it was a good few years ago that that had been done... not the easiest of tasks as every pebble, rock, ornament and weed plant pot in the pond was covered in 'blanket weed', and it is not the easiest stuff to remove. The family all 'mucked' (very appropiate word) in with scrubbing brushes and scourers but it still took 2 days to finish cleaning them all off!!!

Daughter Kes has applied to be a 'Peer Monitor' at her school for next term, I reckon, with her nature, she could very well have the right qualities for that sort of task.

Grandson Danny had a football tornament this saturday and although they came 'top' of their group after winning 3 out of the 4 games they unfortunately failed to qualify on points for the semi finals... it was a great effort though, so congratulations to them.
* * * * *
My son and I played in the 'Doubles dart board' pairs compitition play off's and got through to the finals but unfortunately lost 3-2.... there's always next year...lol...
The 'team 6's' knockouts are still ongoing and we seem to be doing quite well in that one... hopefully we can keep our winning streak going.

One last thing before I go... I don't know if any of you remember a blog I wrote a few months back about our Government... I stated that if 'Nanny' kept smacking us we would eventually rebel big time... well, the British public done exactly that in the 'Crewe by election' overturning the Labour governments 7000 majority into a 7000 loss!!! The party I support ...( UKIP )... came in 4th but is slowly increasing it's vote year by year.
I will try my best to get round to visiting soon.
Best wishes LethargyI reckon I have been suffering from Lethargy for the past few weeks... This is normally a common symptom bought on by certain Governments (like the one we have in power at the moment)... I'm sure as soon as the cause is removed I will feel so much better!!!!.
My MSN Friend Jim sent me this E-Mail the other day.... Anyone tell me how it is done???? ( E-Mail )..... When the link appears click on the little boy in the bottom right hand corner for further instuctions.
Hope to be up to visiting soon.
Best wishes. Blue sky's.. I hate them !!!Blue sky.... loads of damn blue sky.
A few whispers of grey Cloud visible through the monotonous green foliage of the Trees
which surrounded the Country Cottage with it's red tiled roof.
A smallish patch of grass, which wasn't that bad, at the front of the Cottage...
But then there were the bushes...different shapes and sizes
but all seemingly managing to blend in consistant colour with one another...
The outside was extremely hard.. the inside even worse....
took me at least 10 days to create..........
And the Sky!!!!... Well!! that was a nightmare...........
I just don't know what makes me want to accept such a challenge...........
''Damn 2000 piece Jigsaws!!!''
Wouldn't have minded if it had been my house though...lol...
Best wishes
Just JobsLack of time!!, Lack of inspiration!!, Lack of interest!!, Suppose we all suffer now and again....but knowing it is there if we need it... the comp sits quietly waiting... till we feel the urge to type about something or find we have some spare minutes (or even hours) to use up or need something to occupy our minds... Guess that has been me for the past couple of weeks. Decorating is proceeding slowly (very slowly)...case of one job leading to another..and another...and another!!!! why do these little 'just jobs' never turn out 'just'...lol...???.....example:- Find that you have not purchased quite enough architrave..pop up the local DIY store to purchase some more...store has run out and is not expecting new stock for 2 days...cannot proceed with decorating without said item so visit 4 more DIY stores within a 10 mile radius before finding the same shaped architrave!!! ...
Daughter Kes is on 2 weeks spring term holiday.. she brought home a few 'certificates' on her last day of term..
Excellent effort in Mathematics Improvement in History
Consistent effort in Science
Seems like she is doing fairly well in her first year....
Lance Corporal Wayne is home for a few weeks... He is awaiting his posting to his new army unit in London after completing his full Army training and achieving his 'Pass Out' as a fully trained soldier... complete with Radio/Signal qualification, ordinary car driving license and CVRT Armoured vehicle driver license!!!.... and he better not think he's parking that in my drive if he ever brings it home...lol...

With Only one more game to go in the Thursday darts league we have achieved 'The Double' ... winning both the team and pairs league.. we had already won the Team Champion title a few weeks back and yesterday (Thursday) we added the 'Pairs Champions' title after winning 2-1.. that 'free beer' tasted delicious...lol... We will be playing in the First Division next season.. thats if there are still any Pubs left open to play against!!! Nationally, in England, an average of 57 pubs are shutting down every month..Government Tax and additional paperwork are making the average pub impossible for the Traditional man & wife to operate. New government laws, Health and safety regulations and the disasterous Smoking ban have served to force many to 'go to the wall'' . At least 20 have closed down in my own 'local' area over the last 6 months and many more are rumoured to be following suit with buisness having dropped by 40 to 50% since the smoking ban and the extra Tax duty placed on alcohol in the last budget!!!! Well done our Government for wrecking ANOTHER English Tradition.....
Best wishes to all FootballGrandsons
The team from Holland gave a good show but unfortunately didn't win any games and for them, just like us, the tournament was over before the final 'play off' game. We had to admire their team spirit though, during their team 'photo shoot', in which they took part before the play off game, you would have thought they had won!!! so many smiles No league game for darts this Wednesday so we arranged to play the 'Home Team champion' game... this is where all the members of our own team play each other to see who goes through to the final in which all the individual winners of each team battle it out to be crowned 'Champion of Champions'.. I was first on the 'oche' ( the toe line)... best of 3 legs... lost the 1st 2... game over...Well I didn't have much time to 'warm up'.....and I did have a rotten cold!!....and I did play the fellow who went on to win it!!!....and...and...lol... Thursday darts.. 3 games left now.. good win this week.. 5-1 in the team and 2-1 in the pairs.. keeps us on track for the 'double' AND we got that 'Free Beer'
Best wishes.
UpdateIts been quite a hectic week.. the main task of decorating my hallway consists of 'boarding' the lower half of the walls... the boarding itself isn't too difficult it's the trim and edges that have to be precisely measured, cut to length and shaped to fit that's causing the biggest 'time consuming' part... but it's progressing slowly!! I have been taking a few ''before and after'' pics so I can compare the difference at the end.... and MAY even publish them in here If I think the quality is good enough.. by that, I mean the quality of my work not the pics...lol...
Wednesday Darts was our last league game of the season and resulted in a BIG 23-0 victory....Free Beer!!
Thursday Darts:- No league game this week so we played a friendly against a 1st division team that are in 4th position in the league.... we beat them 4-2 in the team game and 3-0 in the 'doubles' .....another 'Free Beer!!

Grandson have a football 'Tournament' arranged for tomorrow (Easter day)... 4 different teams have entered, including 1 from Holland!!, should be a good day providing the fore-casted 'SNOW' does not turn up and wreck the event!!.... Come on the Lads!!!
I am having an early night tonight as I want to be asleep before the Easter Bunny arrives...lol.... Bring it on... I LOVE chocolate
Best wishes to all.
FriendsI have recently had a few requests to be added as a friend to certain spaces, I normally have a quick look at their space to see what sort of 'friend' they might be. If I believe we may have anything in common I then add them as a 'friend' and leave a little comment in their space. It is not until after they have been added as a 'friend' that you then realize how informative the 'Windows live' page really is...lol....
You have to catch the 'live' page at just the right time if you want to see if any of your 'proper' friends have recently updated as it is just FULL of the details of your new 'friend' or 'friends' making 'friends' with everyone else in the universe...lol...
I had only added 2 new 'friends' so goodness knows what my 'live' page would have looked like if I had added more!!!.
So far, one of my new 'friends' has at least visited my space.... spent 58 seconds checking up on me and left without leaving a comment!!!! The other 'new friend' hasn't bothered to visit at all....as of yet....but I await the visit with anticipation. One of my new 'friends' has at least 400 'friends' and the other has over 700 so it may take them a bit of time to get 'back' to me.... I am soooooo Gullible...lol...
I will give it a couple of days to see if I get any response from my (so called) new 'friends', If not, I will then return my 'live' page to normal working conditions by deleting them!!!.
Don't ya just love 'Friends'??...lol...
Best wishes to all my 'Proper Friends' CHAMPIONSJust a short update on darts:----
Wednesday (Trebles Board):- A 16-7 Victory
Thursday (doubles board):- A 4-2 team win and a 2-1 pairs win
'THE TEAM CHAMPIONS'
There is still 4 games to go but there are no other teams that can catch us in the 'team' games as we now have a 10 point lead... 1st division here we come. At the moment we are top in the 'pairs' in the Thursday league as well but still need to work on keeping our position to achieve 'The Double'... Other teams are still in with a chance of knocking us off the 'top slot' .. Best Wishes.
Stormy WeatherAs I write, the wind is howling down my chimney..we have predictions for winds of up to 80mph. The South of England & South Wales is going to be worse hit ( South Wales is where my messenger mate Jim lives) here in the South East we are expecting the worst winds about midday. I have had to move a few things to a more secure place in the garden already, I moved them yesterday after we had received the warning about the storm and I thought they would have been OK but the wind thought otherwise and they finished up crashing against my shed!!! hopefully they are safe now and will not cause any damage. I braved the high winds (and rain
Best wishes. Another short BlogSame old stuff & Same old routine now Daughter is back at school after the 'break'. Still doing a little decorating in the hallway in between giving a few rooms a bit of a 'spring' clean... I know it's not here yet.. but it's not far away...I hope...lol...
I only decorated my front room just over a year ago and already I have had to treat and repaint the walls nearest the outer part of the building due to damp/mould!! I just don't know what to blame it on.. condensation seems an endless problem in my house...perhaps it's because I have no central heating? but then again I have often heard that central heating causes condensation & damp?? perhaps it's us breathing that has caused it!! I will have to get everyone to cut down...lol...

Not sure if I will be updating on daughters roller skating anymore... seems as though she may have decided to give it up.... she hasn't attended the last 3 sessions!!, I do try to encourage her but I don't like to force her to do anything that she isn't keen on and I think she has now lost interest. She did quite well while she was there and I'm sure it was a good experience for her.

Before I go I would just like to say a fond farewell to the good old :-
British pub, Bingo halls, Transport cafes,
many, if not most, Restaurant/bars,
Cigarette industries
all of their workforces and employees
and probably loads more businesses that I haven't mentioned..
....before they all disappear completely..
Best wishes to all.

Update and Under Age Drinking!!Just a quick update on Grandson's Football team... I purchased the 'local' newspaper today ( which sponsors and supports the Medway Junior league) and checked Sundays results.... Grandson's team will STAY in the first division next season... Results went our way and we have missed relegation by at least 1 point
* * * * *
Under age Drinking!!
Before I go I think I must comment on the latest news that our government are going to CRACK DOWN !! on under age drinking........ by prosecuting shops, off licenses and supermarkets that sell alcohol to under age drinkers and remove their licence to sell alcohol!!!! perhaps it's just me but I do think this is so ridiculous. Under age drinkers have loads of different ways of getting their hands on alcohol... mainly asking an older person to purchase it for them... but get their hands on it they will..... Prosecute THEM Instead!!!
Many an 18 yr old looks younger than their years and 'forged' Identity cards are not that hard to obtain!! The trials and tribulations that shopkeepers already have to go through to get proof of their customers age's are creating untold paperwork and unnecessary antagonism resulting in many youths laying siege to the unfortunate shopkeeper that has refused them. Fair enough if the purchaser is obviously under the drinking age then a punishment should ensue but if under age drinking is such a big problem then why are the 'under age' culprits not being severely punished?? Stop keep laying the blame on the suppliers and Stop keep BANNING things that are being abused!!! BAN the buyers and abusers instead!!! Most people know how to use and do things sensibly but are forever being 'punished' because the Government have no idea 'what-so-ever' of how to punish the actual offenders!! This Week and New VideoThe Weeks update:-
Daughter Kes stayed at a friends house over the previous weekend as it was her friends Birthday. As a treat they went to get a 'kabab' and on the way back to her friends house both her and her friend suffered at the hands (and boots) of the local older (Girl) yobbo's, They were attacked from behind, (which is normal for that type of cowards attack) Both suffered slight injuries and Kes finished up with a few 'scratches' to her face and a neck injury, (whiplash) caused by her assailants yanking her hair and pulling her to the ground, both the girls involved in the attack were caught by the Police and as far as I know they were both giving a stern warning.. It was probably best the police dealt with it and not me because as far as I am concerned if they are old enough to 'give it' they are old enough to 'receive it' as well... Girls or not!!!

'Lance Corporal' Wayne Arrived home on Friday for a weekend's leave from the Army training camp, It's nice to have him home more regularly since he started his 2nd stage training... During his first stage Training we only saw him for 2 weeks during his 4 months training and was only allowed to visit him once.. on Parents Day. The next time we were allowed to visit was on his final day....the Passing out Parade... and on that day he was allowed to come home with us to await his 2nd stage posting. He treated the whole family to a night out at the Pub this Saturday so you can see why it's good to see him home more often now...lol...

Grandsons 'Footy' team were back in action this Sunday after a two week break, unfortunately they could not quite achieve the 'win' they needed to make certain of their 1st division survival so once again they have to rely on other results going their way. Excellent game to watch though!! 4-0 down with 15 minutes to go and they fought back to 4-3... I do like these exciting games.. like them better when we win though...lol...

As quoted in a previous blog we were up against the 'top' dart team on Wednesday and........ we lost!!! It was close though .. they beat us 13-10 but I still had to pay out for a 'free beer'

I have given up on the 'Camcorder converter' for a little while, perhaps if I leave it for a while I might think of some way to 'beat it'.. I decided to 're-vitalize' an old blog instead.. ( Blackbird) ...My finished project has been 'posted' to You Tube and is now appearing in Kingtroys Video box (just above this blog)!!!

Best wishes to all. Common senseLondon Times Obituary of the late:- Mr. Common Sense
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how
old he was,since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic
red tape. will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable
lessons as:
Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend morthan you can earn) and reliable strategies
(adults, not children, are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place.
Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment
for kissing a classmate; teens suspended
from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining
their unruly children.
It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an Elastoplast
to a student; but could not inform parents when a student
became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses;
and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend
yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar
could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot.
She spilled a little in her lap,
and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter,
Responsibility; and his son, Reason.
He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, I Want It Now, Someone Else Is To Blame,
and I'm A Victim.
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. Do you still remember him?,
Don't get too upset If you don't,
many have now had to join the majority and put him out of
their thoughts.
Nannies ever increasing legislation's will take care of you from here.!!! Naughty Children.. The Answer.Much of the population now are in two minds whether to smack their children for misbehaving... I have tried many other methods to control mine when they have one of ''those moments''
